So whats available and whats the difference between Office 365 and Microsoft Office.

Office Online works with Office 365 and Office for PC or Mac.

The personal and business plans have very different features.

Personal plans have a limit on the number of devices that can access Office 365.

Office Online has fewer features than subscription-based Office 365 and its free.

All versions of Office except Student come with Outlook Email, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks.

Files and emails are stored on a local drive rather than in the cloud.

The downside is that wont work as fast or as conveniently as having your Contacts and Calendar information saved in your phones own Calendar and Contacts apps.

To avoid the cloud, dont log into Office Online through Office PC or Mac software.

They keep your Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes on your PC.

But you cant access the information from your phones and tablets unless you use third party software.

It works with all newer versions of Microsoft Office as well as Office 2007, 2003 and 2002.
